Jonathan Street's best effort to date sees him explaining, in plain, no bulls**t, English about how to start up a blog (short for web log), build it up, promote it, advertise on it, make bundles of cash from it and then build another one, then another and so on.
A while ago Jonathan Street was giving away a free publication all about how to earn money via the Internet by building a web site adding a blog to your portfolio and, generally, how to market them using pay per click advertising, eBooks, articles sites so on and so on. It was a wonderful read and it was FREE. This book uses some of that advice but it's been updated somewhat.
I learned more from that publication than from most that I'd paid for.
Jonathan takes the hype and aforementioned BS out of Internet marketing and brings you information that is so useful with no filler or fluff, that you find yourself wishing you'd come across his stuff in the first place, before you wasted all your hard earned on the hundreds of other publications that got you nowhere.
Blog it! is beautifully laid out with chapters that build you into a frenzy of excitement. Each one tells you more and more about how to become successful online with your blogs. You are reminded every so often as to why you are reading this and that you MUST act on the information in order for it to work for you.
I kept putting the book down to try certain things and then couldn't wait to pick it up again to find out what I'm supposed to do next. Two things that I've had problems with over the years are RSS feeds and 'Pinging'. I won't go into it here but, suffice to say, Jonathan Street explained about these, normally complicated things, in such a way that I was able to go back to my existing blogs and implement his advice on these subjects, instantly. And it worked.
I can't praise this product highly enough, just buy it for around £79 from his site and you won't regret it. You also get four bonus CDROMs with the book which are videos entitled, Blog It! Bumper disk, Growing your blog empire, Blog traffic explosion, Expanding your blog empire.

When reviewing any new product, I do like to look at it from all angles and do try to find negatives as well as positives ... with this product, it's hard to fault. I could harp on about the quality of the videos on some disks where the sound is too quiet and tinny but this is soon put to rights when Jonathan presents his own vids and speaks loud, clear and expertly about the various subjects.
I'm not sure who the quiet, tinny guy is, with the lisp, but I did feel more comfortable listening to Mr. Street's own presentations rather than that of his guest. But this is really me being too picky. I know I'm very critical of home business types presenting their own voice over's on this type of product, preferring that they should leave it to a professional presenter, but this whole package is simply crammed full to the brim with totally useful and exciting information that any criticism would be totally unfair. It's a real gem, I must say.
For the first time ever with one of my reviews, I'm very tempted to give Blog it!, the quick and easy way to start your own profitable online business (to give it its full title) ten out of ten. Oh, and Jonathan is BRITISH ... see, we CAN do it.
